Kimberly
Kimberly is the fastest-changing town on the corridor. New subdivisions keep going up around exit 275, drawn by land prices and a straight interstate shot to Birmingham. It's still small and quiet, but it doesn't feel rural the way it did a decade ago.
Housing
Heavily new-construction: craftsman-style homes in planned subdivisions, plus older farmhouses and acreage on the outskirts. Among the best value-per-square-foot in the metro if you'll accept the drive.
Schools
Jefferson County Schools, with Corner High School and Mortimer Jordan High School serving parts of the area depending on address. Zoning here has shifted with growth — verify for a specific street.
Getting around
About 25–30 minutes to downtown Birmingham via I-65. Gardendale's shopping corridor is 10–12 minutes south.
