Good any weekend
Walk or ride at Gardendale Sports Complex
Gardendale Sports Complex
Walking paths, playgrounds and youth ball fields. Saturday mornings in spring and fall the fields are full — it's the best free people-watching in town.
Spend an hour at the Gardendale Public Library
Downtown Gardendale
Story times, summer reading, and quiet meeting rooms. Check the library's posted calendar for the current week's kids' programming.
Hike and fish at Black Creek Park
Fultondale
The best public park on the corridor — a lake, trails, and a splash pad in the warm months. Ten minutes south of Gardendale.
Paddle or swim the Locust Fork
Warrior
River access at the north end of the corridor. Best in late spring and early summer when water levels cooperate.
Eat your way down Fieldstown Road
Fieldstown corridor
Barbecue, wings, tacos and biscuits within a two-mile stretch. Our guides break it down by craving.
