Fultondale
Fultondale is the first stop north of Birmingham on I-65 and functions as the gateway to the whole corridor. It has the heaviest retail concentration in the area, a genuinely good city park system, and the shortest commute downtown of anywhere on this list.
Housing
A mix of older homes near the original town center and newer construction rebuilt after the 2021 tornado. Prices are competitive and the housing stock skews newer than Gardendale's downtown.
Schools
Jefferson County Schools — Fultondale Elementary, Fultondale High School (the Wildcats).
Getting around
Roughly 10 minutes to downtown Birmingham via I-65 exit 266 — the best commute in North Jefferson County.
